Here at Huisache farm we strive for healthy, happy animals no matter what their job is. 

 

Our Nigerian Dwarf Goat's

 

• CAE/CL/Johnes tested clean 10/22/2015 

• Free fed Tifton 85

• Dumor pelleted goat feed 2x a day.

• Manna Pro Goat Balancer supplement 1x day.

• Free choice Golden Blend goat minerals.

• Routine vaccinations for CD/T.

• Copper bolus every 6 months for internal parasite control.

• Pro-bios after deworming or stress ie: new arrival or kidding.

• Hoof trimming as needed, we always look our goats over regularly.

• We do our own in house fecals. Our animals are only treated for intestinal parasites when there is a need. 

• All kids are disbudded, unless polled and tatooed.

• If you want a pet wether we reccomend allowing your pet to grow until 6 months. This will allow the urethra to grow to it's maximum size. Along with proper feed, this helps prevent urinary calculi from causing a blockage a life threatening and commonly fatal illness in wethers.  

 

All our Nigerian Dawrf goats are housed in clean conditions and rotated on pasture during the summer to help avoid intestinal parasites. 

 

Our Muscovy Ducks health care:

 

Muscovy Ducks do not require special care. We feed a quallity feed enough to supplement pasture. They are able to graze and eat insects and bathe in the pond all day. We do test regularly for internal parasites and treat as needed.
